So it is true.... all that heartburn, those headaches, the lack of sleep WAS stress waiting to close! Who woulda thunk it?!
I have closed. You all have been most beneficial to the process, all the great info from the community at large.
I took a nap after the closing and it feels soo good!
Thank you to everyone once again, esp Shane who helped me immensely through this process.
I will continue to be on this forum and the rebuilding forum, cause lets be honest, what else am I gonna do at work

Congrats Scott!!! I can relate for sure! We signed yesterday (still waiting for funding on Tuesday, but they gave us the keys anyway) and it was so non-exciting. I have no clue what I will do with my time after Tuesday!

Yeah.. my closing got delayed til Friday-- then, it took forever.. and I wound up overpaying by a lot at closing.... Started at 11am, walked out a little after 4pm.
So we had to wait til funding to get refunded the overpaymentand obviously, for the seller to get their check. We just wait around, and as we were being told 'it probably won't fund until Tuesday' the title company woman started cheering because her dot matrix printer started whipping out the checks haha
Everyone was ecstatic!
5 hours! Ours was 45 minutes maybe!

There were some HUD issues, some things not listing corrtectly..
Plus I went in expecting to pay about 5k at closing, but apparently tax credit and what not can be applied to the 3.5% minimum requirement, so my laywer had to have the lender fix it. Anyway, I closed for 700 bucks (well, 2k at earnest, plus 700 and tax credit to bring in my minimum) but at the table it was only 700 instead of 5k. So I had a cashiers check for 5k, and they had to refund me 4300. I wasn't mad at em

Awesome on the cash back - and even MORE awesome: The keys!
Huge Congratulations!
Thanks Booner! It is crazy. I starting coming here in Nov 2010... I signed up for a user in April 2011.. and in May 2012 I have a house... its just insane to think about the amount of time, effort, money and energy that went into this whole process. Now I just gotta make sure I don't eff it all up!
Plus... I still have some repairing to do.. still have those 3 paid collection and 2 paid public records I can now start tackling again... haha I had stopped doing any GW, disputes, tactics from like, Feb til now because I didn't wanna flub up the mortgage process..
