Do you have to belong to a CU to apply for a mortgage?

Title says it all. Can I apply for a mortgage at a Credit Union if I don't have an accoutn there? Is there a benefit to havng an acount, mortgage rate wise?

Yup, CUs only do business with members for mortgage loans.
