An assumption costs $1500?
Dang.... talk about gouging
I don't think the statement added showing the account involved in bk is any problem.
it really isnt involved.
If you are attempting to qualify for a new mortgage (which it doesn't appear you), then the comments of "Included in BK" would need to be explained otherwise the underwriter will assume the worst (that there was a BK that for some reason doesn't appear on your credit report or in public records). You'd want to obtain copies of your ex-husbands bankruptcy paperwork (this is public information you can get at https://pacer.login.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/login.pl ... or just simply ask your ex for them), and as long as the credit report shows on time payments for the mortgage it shouldn't become an issue. If the credit report has stopped reporting payment history when the BK was filed/discharged then the loan officer for the mortgage you are applying with would contact Chase directly for payment history verification.
Shane,
Thanks for the info. I have registered with Pacer so that I can obtain a copy of the report for my records.
As a follow up, I was able to contact the Chase executive office. I spoke to a very helpful person who said my credit file should not reflect "involved in bankruptcy" and that if by chance it does show up (apparently this has happened), he told me to contact him directly so that they can amend it for me.
Thankfully, it sounds like things are going to be fine.
You are welcome. Be sure to hold onto that that fellow's contact information. It's rare when someone there will allow themselves to be personally accountable, so it's good you found someone. Have a good weekend and hope you never need to call Chase.
