After following along for over a year it feels surreal to be posting in the monthly closing post! It has been a long road... after several years of rebuilding credit I hope we can finally make our dream become a reality. We have rented a small 1 bedroom home from family the last 2 years while paying off debt and with a 7 year old whose toys take up most of the 1000 sq ft available I cannot tell you how excited I am for her to finally have her own room! We have already done our inspection and have final walk through on 2/22. Though this board has made me so much more knowledgeable on the mortgage process I have also seen how deals can fall apart at the last minute. Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly!

Just got my clear to close today! The past two weeks have been a whirlwind... my mortgage broker was holding up the process and even communicated to some that the closing date had been pushed back as far as 2/18!! I called up the loan processor myself and worked with her to get final approval in 5 days!!! I repeat, 5 days!! The underwriter came back with a conditional approval asking for almost nothing... just 1 bank statement from September. HA! My loan processor had me send over my entire life based on other loan approvals shes worked with and voila, closing on time as I requested on 1/4.
