Stay away from banks. They are awful at originating mortgages now - plus their overlays are very, very restrictive. You need the opposite of restrictive.
Go to a mortgage banker. pm me if you want a referral to a couple that are excellent, If you find a Realtor in SC where the house is located, they will have good mortgage people too. If they don't ....find another Realtor.
