I came across a post by @jrands that mentioned getting a TU 4 mortgage score with a soft pull from Better Mortgage. I tried it and the score they gave was the same as the one I got from MyFico. Of course I have some marketing emails to deal with but I think it was worth it. They spell out that there is no credit ding and it's been two days with nothing so it seems all is well on that front.
I have not seen that mentioned before so though it was worth it's own post.
Thanks for sharing your data points with the community. Always nice to have the most updated process.
Good post. And even though a phone number is needed, I haven't gotten any calls from them and have only received 2 emails from them directly regarding the pre-qual inquiries I've made. So it seems it might be worth it for folks wondering what their TU mortgage score is.
I just tried this, but it said I was denied since my score was under 620 and didn't show an actual score. In the followup email, though, it did give me a score.
Assuming the score in my email is the mortgage score (TU uses FICO 4), it went up 50 points over the last month!
This is good to know, thank you!
Since I plan to app with Better.com next month while rate shopping anyways or maybe the first week of December I decided to go ahead and do the SP. No surprises, matched my TU on MyFico. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for this info @kberly69! TU is the one score I needed (for free until my 3B report update in 12 days) and I was just able to get it from better.com. Great info!
@kberly69Well, it seems like this hack for getting a free TU Mortgage Score is no more. I just checked Better's site and got my FICO 8 score instead of the mortgage score.
