House Journey

I wanted to share a thread on my journey towards a new house. To get some encouragement through this stressful process and hopefully be able to let others know that there is always hope!

I filed for BK in 2008 for mostly stupid and irresponsible reasons and have slowly been building up my credit. Thanks to these boards. I got preapproved on Tuesday (mid score 720) and will likely be going the conventional route with 5% down. Found my DREAM house. It is a beautiful old Victorian that i put an offer on and I am eagerly waiting to hear back on my offer.

Thank you guys. My original offer was not accepted but we reached an agreement today! Yes. We are under contract. Thank God.

Home inspection and termite inspection scheduled. Current rate is 3.5% at my bank so hopefully I can lock it in once the inspection is finished. Thank you all so much for your support!

Locked my rate in today at 3.5%. Going to sign loan documents tomorrow. It is getting real now

Good luck to you! I had an inspection done and an appraisal (required for FHA loans) a few weeks ago. The inspection was very thorough was very informative. The appraisal was nerve wrecking as I was not there for that. Plus I had to wait over a week from the time it was ordered to the time we received the results. Luckily, my agent was there and was very informative about how it all went. I hope it all goes well for you!

My lender requires an appraisal too. They are waiting for the termite letter (also tomorrow) and my ok to order the appraisal (pending inspection results). The appraisal is also going to make me pretty nervous. Thanks for the positive thoughts. Highly appreciated!
