Re: How hard is it going to be?

You can explain anything.  But the problem comes along when the UW doesn't like the answer.

That sucks about the carpet!

We've had to rent for years w/ HORRIBLE credit.  Just pay a bigger deposit and be up front w/ the landlord that you have credit problems.

Good Luck

Re: How hard is it going to be?

I always filled out the "current condition" worksheet they give you (or are supposed to) whenever I moved in. Explicit details, almost to a point to make the landlord kind of feel bad for what you're moving into! Smiley Happy

But then again, I think I've been fortunate wilh getting good ones... except one... another story.

EDIT: In Texas I believe, or at least in my city, there is a code that carpet in rentals must be replaced every X years or X tennants, not sure which. But 10+ year-old carpet in a rental is rediculous, code or no.

Re: How hard is it going to be?

I have had one late deleted, woo hoo and a collection deleted as well... Both through online disputes, crazy huh? Have not paid to have my FICO scores updated but have seen an increase in my transrisk score, but this was very minimal... My husband has agreed to rent as long as necessary so we can live together so we are just waiting until the end of school to find a rental UNLESS paying my capital one credit card off and having the charge off showed as paid in full beings big improvements then we will purchase the home we have already found!! I will keep you updated....

You should see an increase.

Re: How hard is it going to be?

Sooo I paid off all my credit card debt, except $400 of $1000on my cap one... These updates should report this weekend so really, really hoping for a good increase. Called Sallie Mae and they are sending up my request from the advocate to maybe (possibly) getting a 90 day late removed, won't know the results of this for ten more days or so. One collection should also be removed because I negotiated a PFD!!! That leaves one collection that I haven't heard anything on. Next month I will pay off all but 9% of my cap one and do a pfd if they validate the dish network collection. Positive movement in three weeks I think! My TU08 fico has gone from 572 to 640 since December! Cannnnot wait until the 22nd!!!!

Re: How hard is it going to be?

FWIW,

Children are a lot more flexible than adults. Any "suffering" is usually done by adults. I'm not saying children aren't affected by situations, just more likely to have their  own identities than us. Smiley Happy
