LOE for long employment GAP

We need to provide a LOE for my husband's long unemployment gap. He was laid off from his job from April 2016 until April 2017 when he went to work at his new/current job.  During that time he diligently looked for a job but it took longer than we imagined. Any sample letters or what to include/leave out etc?

Explanations don't need to be overly detailed.  They just need to explain what the underwriter is asking about.  No need to provide specifics, as has been pointed out what you wrote should suffice.
