Mortgage Loan 601 Middle score

Hello everyone, I'm actually working with a broker out of Cali that's saying she can get me a pre-approval with a 601 middle score. My TL is not the best. A lot of old collections and charge off. The last year or two has been good, but I just had a collection pop up which took my score down. Do you think this is possible using VA loan or do you think she's just telling me this to keep my business. Any info will be helpful. Thank You!

Seems in the past few months more and more lenders are allowing lower scores.  I know of a few that will go down to a 500 for VA & FHA.  So it's entirely possible.
