Has anyone seen it. I just checked the rates for FHA for the Texas downpayment assistance 5.25%/5.457%. something in the water or what.
OMG that is ridiculous!
im going FHA. I know the rates are lower for conventional loanns, I think there rates is around 4.5-4.75. This is absurd.
i was quoted 4.7.... im praying the increase in score that i expect in couple of weeks will give me 4.5.
Wells is showing 4.75 for conventional and FHA. The 5/1 ARMs are the only products still in the threes.
The recent rate spike is highly frustrating.

i know and it makes me mad since now im Am house hunting again
Fixed mortgage rates usually cue off of the yield on 10 year Treasuries. We've actually see a tiny bit of pullback in that regard this week. The average on Freddie Mac 30 year conforming fixed dropped a tad to 4.37% after hitting 4.51.
Bottom line: you may see some modulation, but absent a statement from Bernanke that the Fed is absolutely not going to ramp down QE3 buying this year, rates are not going back down to any meaningful degree.
