Offer accepted!

Hi y'all,

don't have much of any questions, but just wanted to share my excitement that over the weekend we had our offer accepted on our first home purchase! I hope all goes well with the rest of the closing and such, but I don't have any concerns. Did home inspection and there were some things pointed out (expected with a house built in 1980) but nothing too major. Will need to replace bathtub for sure so will need to look into a plumber for that..Definitely some other various small jobs I'm happy to take on myself as a proud new homeowner Smiley Happy

Ended up getting a house for a bit more than we were thinking, but it's in a great location for us and provides for our needs for the next few years. happy to not be throwing away money on rent anymore!

DW and I are so grateful we qualified for first time home buyer grant, so we only have to put 1% down, and the seller is paying about 60% of the closing costs. Woohoo!

I'm not sure if this was a question lol. But yea, our rate is 6.75%. Still excruciatingly high, but better to still own than rent imo. Hopefully can refinance whenever rates my drop.
