Pre-Approved for VA Loan but really nervous about Underwriting
Looking to buy my 1st home. Mid Score is 635. Was just pre-approved for VA Loan. Up to 250k @ 4.75%. I'm excited about that but my fear is my credit history. I know the VA looks at the last 12 months and I did have 1 late car payment back in June that was over 30 days late. My fear is that when it gets to VA Underwriting that it will be rejected because of this. I am just worried for nothing or is this a real concern? Would I have been pre-approved if this is going to be an issue? One last thing the car will be paid off at the end of this month. Will that override the June 30day late payment?
