Question concerning FHA case numbers assigned

Now, when the new changes go into effect and they speak of FHA case numbers assigned, are these case numbers assigned when you apply for an Fha loan or when you are approved for and or close on an FHA loan?

You go by the rules when you applied for the loan.

Re: Question concerning FHA case numbers assigned

You have to have an address -- a property to attach the case # to.  Assuming you signed a purchase agreement before officially applying for a loan, you would get the case # then.

Re: Question concerning FHA case numbers assigned

You mean, like, a pre-approval?  Ours is good for 60 days.  We have to wait out the 2 year bankruptcy discharge period for my wife, otherwise we'd hopefully already be building.

By the way, our pre-approval was based on our W-2's, pay stubs, tax returns, and credit reports...it wasn't an over the phone or internet type thing.

Re: Question concerning FHA case numbers assigned

From what iv heard, your case number is good for 6 months. If you have to go for another pre-approval your still using your old case number.
