Underwriting....

How long does underwriting actually take? I sent in all of my documents to the loan processor a week ago and my file still hasn't made it to underwriting. Too bad I couldn't just stick with ST but for a 30 yr fixed at 4% with no origination fee I'm willing to wait a bit longer.

Depends on how many files are in the pipeline.  Also depends on wheteher they're using the time before the file goes to underwriting to verify everything.  Our processor apparently sent out all the employment verifications, requests for tax transcripts, etc, and had everything ready for the underwriter.  The underwriter took about 3 days to approve our file. 

Hopefully your process will be quick and this will all be over for you soon.
