I'm an AU on a Wells Fargo card with a 12k limit, utilization is currently around 55%. The card is 0% until May so we are taking our time paying it off. That being said, I just paid down all my cards doing AZEO with very low utilization, around 9%. I'm applying for a mortgage within the next 2 months and am trying to get my 5,4,2 scores closer to 640. I had a bad string of spending but am finally getting my credit worked out. I've seen all my scores jump a significant amount just in the past month. I use ChatGPT for everything and it said the utilization on the WF card as an AU is suppressing my scores. The WF card has short history, only 8 months. Will removing myself as an AU hurt or help my scores? Ideally I can throw another $5k at the card at the end of the year, but I had some unexpected expenses come up so that may not be feasible.
How many other open credit cards do you have, how long ago was each opened (the month & year), and what are each of their credit limits?
I can't imagine being au on a 55% card is helping...

ChatGPT lies. AU accounts ARE COUNTED as part of your aggregate utilization and highest individual card utilization with Fico 5/4/2. In other words, such accounts are looked at the same as your personal accounts.
It is only Fico 8 and later models that ignore AU accounts in utilization.
You should either have the AU account paid down to atleast under 29% or get yourself removed as an AU and have the account removed from your report. Removal is the better option - imo. Who needs a boat anchor.
