We are in the process of applying for a VA loan and found out our name is on the CAVAIRS alert list. I thought I read a forum where people have had supression done? We filed chapter 13 in 2010 and gave the home back to the bank and lifted the stay to foreclose. They never foreclosed and submitted to HUD for reimbursement in 2014...4 years after the stay was lifted! I was reading HUD guidelines and banks must foreclose within 9 months of an automatic stay being lifted. Has any one had luck fighting to get this removed when banks fail to follow hud foreclosure guidelines? This isn't fair to us at all. We want to move on with our lives and buy a home with our va loan. We paid out our bk and got it discharged. Thanks.
