Thank you for sharing the information!
Geofenced to certain CA and NC areas.
Kind of odd that you only get that rate for 12 months and then it goes to the standard .10%. Do they HP for membership?
Credit products are not great but their checking accounts seem alright.
Website is awful and doesn't inspire much confidence in their technology.

Makes some sense to me. They probably see this as a lure to bring in some new accounts, so they could either hand out a $125 SUB and have the churner leeches sweep in, do whatever minimum it was to get the SUB and then pull out their money, or they can do this and make them keep it around 366 days before leaving. Has the added bonus of throwing a bone to their existing members to keep more money in savings.

I just meant it was kind of odd in relation to other offers we usually see. $125 is $125 even if it's just one time.

@Anonymous, I have been a member since it was Alliance CU.
"Excite Credit Union - Alliance is now Excite Credit Union
www.excitecu.org/alliance-is-now-excite-credit-union
Our Story Excite's journey began in 1952, 67 years ago, when GE San Jose Federal Credit Union was originally founded. Now with over 40,000 members, our purpose has been re-imagined to give everyone a chance to build a financially stronger future, so together we can build a stronger community."
TU HP for Membership, Even though the General Manager told me it would not be.
I was pissed!!! .. I only keep a few dollars in the accounts.
FYI : It is not Exciting
They used to have great credit products when I joined.
They nerfed those when they changed names
Thanks for the info, @M_Smart007.
Their product stack definitely doesn't look all that exciting to me either but maybe someone will enjoy.
Excite FCU is a geo restricted CU to CA and NC. Their rates and products aren't the best, but they're a good choice if you need help rebuilding. When I lived in NC years ago, they were the local answer to NCFU for rebuilding. This was when they operated as Alliance. Hopefully they still are.
5% APR is excellent even if it's for a year. I wish I could take advantage of that.
