Super irritated right now, applied for membership and credit card on 7/20. Got an email saying both were declined. Ok whatever moving on. So I get an email from an underwriter saying the credit card application was approved I just needed to establish memebership (I had actually forgot I applied) because it had been so long. I'm thinking I already tried that and emailed him that I had applied and he never responded. Called customer service 8/1 they say membership was denied due to not being able so authenticate me and there's nothing else I can do. I just don't understand how the card got approved, but the membership didn't. Underwriter never reached back out. I'll just leave it alone. Just seems weird to me. I'm mad about the unnecessary pull and the possibility of a new card, but can't get an account for a reason like that.
@Jesuschild2712 Unknown why they don't want your business or your money. Seems like a terrible business strategy.
My original membership application was denied as well.
I sent a secure message in the application status portal and they got back to me with a documents request and I had to send over documents confirming my identity before my membership was approved.

Customer service seemes to be no help, I may reach out to the underwriter and see what he can do. Since he approved my card apparently he's seeing something that the membership department isn't. He requested no documents, poi, nothing just had to establish membership.
I have a feeling that neither the phone reps nor the underwriter have a hand in membership decisions, you should be able to send a secure message in your application portal connected to your denied membership application number and request a reconsideration of the denial.

Man, I hate when simple membership applications get denied.
Thank you for the DP. I also have lots of problems getting verified, so maybe I'll hold off on Affinity for a later date.
I went through the the process of joining yesterday simple membership only no credit products. Today got a request to upload DL and SS card ok thats fine standard procedure. I thought that was the end of it. A couple hours later a request for POI remember i didn't apply for any credit products. Called customer service 🙄 they were useless. People rave about this CU not impressed so far will not submit POI didn't apply for anything looks like im out $10 bucks. They took for joining a organization and $5 for member savings account.
I've applied for membership several times and they can never verify me. It's odd because I have memberships at several banks/cus and none of them have any issues.
