Re: Affirm Financing

They do a soft pull from Experian but will do hard pull if they ask you for your income. I have had luck with merchants under $500. Have a ~580 score on all three. Got approved for Travelocity for 358.00 ...they don't advertise but you can click "monthly payments" when booking a room and it will redirect to affirm. Got approved just now for Amazon also for $300 after synchrony turned me down for Amazon store card(shocker, never have luck with synchrony, only one card with them). The big glaring warning for you new to credit: comes with hefty interest. Not quite payday loan level but very high, 30% for almost everything I have signed onto, so I'm treading lightly, though I'm curious about how much/many they will let you carry and if they report, surely they must...no indication they do though, positively anyway. I will try and see if I can pull off a larger Best buy one with those running concurrently. Surprised I never heard of them before.

OT: Have a Nordstrom card in good standing, hardly use though due to low limit, can't find anywhere on website to request CLI, any tips?

Re: Affirm Financing

Also I'm a developer, and I noted that the app uses your device location, so be aware of that. The "pin" you get via text is called two factor authentication, which you can actually apply to any app, just look for Google Authenticator app. Encrypts your stuff and requires your participation.

Re: Affirm Financing

They gave me 0% on $906; my credit is 761. I'm using it to buy phones. This is my first loan and was instantly approved, worked like PayPal very easy. It's set up for auto pay so should be fine.

Re: Affirm Financing

I got approved for $1150 for Casper at 0% financing for 6 months. They did ask me for income, unfortunately I did not see that part of the forum responses until after I applied because we desperately need a new mattress and I'm trying to save and pay off baddies aggressively.  I havent seen the HP come through yet and I do have several monitoring sites set up including myFICO - usually they are immediate?  Crossing my fingers it was a soft.

PS - my credit scores are between 600 - 620 across the board!  I was shocked to get approved, much less with 0%.

Re: Affirm Financing

I used it once to get a graphics card for my computer earlier this year. Won't be using then again though as further reading indicates that as a consumer finance loan it looks riskier on to a potential lender. That and I'd rather not have to pay interest on what I'm buying.

Re: Affirm Financing

Just an update: Affirm's website says they are a soft pull and that was my experience as it's been 2 days and nothing has shown up on any report. However they also say they report the loan and payment histort to Experian. I'm not sure when that will show up, most likely September.

Re: Affirm Financing

I started mine on July 27 and have seen no hp or reporting to Experian. It hasn't billed me yet though because the phones still haven't shipped too me almost a month later. My payment time is 18 months. I read that too about lenders not liking these loans but have yet to speak with anyone in real life who had this problem.

Re: Affirm Financing

Used them in 04/2017 to pay for hotel stay in Puerto Rico and it was a soft pull for $2300 on Experian. Never showed as as a hard pull.  I was going to pay it off within 30 days due to having to pay the interest, but they report as an installment loan. Experian score shot up 20+ with the installement loan.  It took about 30 days for the account to report.  Wish they reported to all three bureaus.  Have the funds to pay, but at this point it's only $210 in interest and worth it for the increase in score considering post BK.
