I’m wanting to consider Ally Bank as a primary institution. Bill pay is an important feature for me, and I haven’t found a way to preview the interface.

It cost nothing to join Ally. I've been using their bill pay off and on for 8 plus years. You also get free web based virus protection for your phones and computers.
The trouble I'd have to go through posting a screenshot really wouldn't help you.There's too much info I would have to blot out. Lol
The bill pay works fine no issues.
