BECU membership

I was on my to applying to join, but towards the end of the app process, I see that it says they're going to pull a consumer report.  No big deal if it's just a SP of TU, EX, or EQ, but I know that there are some CU's that do HP's for membership.  I would really rather not incur an HP at this point to just apply to join.  Does anyone know what BECU does?

TIA!

chex HP definitely

I was denied (for chex inquires)

I don't see a SP and I wasn't HP'd, I wonder if they check chex first and don't bother with (what I highly assume to be a SP) after

Re: BECU membership

BECU doesn't hp for membership just credit products which I believe is TU with that said when applying likely soft pull so don't have them locked down and Chex's pull as mentioned as well

It's only a soft pull for membership.

I believe they also pull LexisNexis.

Pray hard, that you do not have to deal with the Gestapo "Financial Crimes Unit" at BECU.

You will be mailing a huge FedEx or USPS envelope of MANY documents to get your accounts unlocked.

It was a lengthy process ...not everyone get's flagged ..but if you doSmiley Mad

Once unlocked, I have had no further issues.

Re: BECU membership

I applied for membership this morning it said they cannot open a membership for me at this time. Im not local to them as far as chex is concerned it shouldn't haven't been a issue. I don't open deposit accounts that much i opened a bank account over a year ago. So my chex inquiries should be super low i ordered a report just to be sure i wont be losing any sleep over this. No SP on any bureau.
