Can you get a line of credit from Capital one if you had a bad acct 8 years ago?

8 years ago i was on an acct with my ex as a tag along, she let the acct go sour and it was closed and charged off. Now 8 years later my Transunion score is 794. Id like to get a Menards card in a month or so and I saw they use Cap one.

Am I SOL?

No you are not SOL, cap1 is the most forgiving bank; people have been able to get another card with them only a year after burning them so I think you will be fine since it has been 8 years

Cap One is one of the most forgiving banks out there.

I burned them in the past and look at my signature.

That is great news guys, thanks! At the moment that Menards crd is all I really want, Ive been remodeling a building and paying big chunks and doing witout (which is best) but to keep the ball rolling and take some pressure off that card would be great.

Same here. I burned them 5 years ago(only for $278 which I did pay off) and now I have venture and qs with a combined 12 k limit!
