PenFed is definitely an HP for membership

SP (for membership) credit unions I am aware of are:

Alliant

Navy Federal

DCU

Tropical Financial Credit Union (for thoise in Florida)

Premier Members CU is a sp to join.

Also, I think the list on DoC for banks/CUs that sp is fairly up to date.

DCU is HP EQ.

I was planning to pick a CU to join and get some benefits on the low APR and rates and build some relationship. I also approved for their Visa card time of the membership. Rep was so kind.

DCU was a sp when I joined. Maybe you were hp'd for the cc?

I added the product CC same time maybe it could be the reason they HP'ed

I joined Nov 2018 and my wife joined Jan 2019, no HP's for either of us.

Has that since changed? Or did we get lucky?

"Since changed" = meaning now a SP instead of HP.
