I am late arriving because I had a strange lack of sleep pox. I slept well. It's a rare thing. I still woke up at 4:45am CST, which means I slept in. I'm usually being startled awake by a very loud alarm at 3:30... At any rate, I am hibernating today with maybe an exception to venture out for sustenance. Or I could just starve, which I've done before.
This is the month of my birth... Going to Phoenix later in the month. Of all the gaming establishments that are within driving distance, none of them offer regular Omaha Poker. Besides, I wanna fly somewhere. Yes, even with this coronavirus thing going on, I want to board a pressurized aluminum tube chock full of god knows what floating around in the air so I can flip cards at a casino 1100 miles away from home. I live life on the edge that way. Also, I don't worry about things like that, if it's my time, then off I go.
Why not Vegas, one may ask? Vegas is for tourists. There's always waaaay too many people there... Talking Stick, on the east side of Phoenix is easily accessible from the highway and the poker room is just a short walk from the front door. Minimum social contact. I can deal with poker players and the camaraderie at the table, can't stand the crowds of Vegas.
I also enjoy going to the Bicycle Club in Bell Gardens, a 'burb of LA, but things have been going south there for a while. I remember panhandlers there then and I can only imagine it's gotten worse since the last time I went.
In credit news: I'm firmly planted in the Garden until at least June-July with the planned axing of 1 card before the AF hits. I've just updated my siggy with a polished Bronze Spade and there it will sit, only to be upgraded.
If you read this far, I thank you .
Congratulations your bronze spade!

@Anonymous wrote:Welcome to February. Just like January but a little shorter. And only 2 paydays.
It's a leap year, meaning 1 more day in February (they should put leap day in July... give us an extra summer day instead). But then, they should also spring ahead around 4 PM on Friday afternoon too.
I had to copy/paste this for posterity. I got a good chuckle out of it. Maybe K needs to start his own, competing Garden Club, like Skyclub for Amex Delta or Platinum card holders.

What is gardening? Gardening means you're not apping until you can get a green checkmark offer for Chase Sapphire Preferred/Reserve or get a preapproval for one of the Amex Delta cards. We talk about everything here except what we apped for today and should feel guilty about.
So go ahead, and pick a seedling or spade. It's not like it's going to last, so completely optional. You will however want to go ahead and pick which color Amex Delta card you're going to app for. We all SkyTeam down here. 🎈🎈🎈
Well, in gardening news for me... I'm still gardening. AKA, no green checkmark offers from Chase other than that silly checking/savings bonus thing that requires me to park money I don't have in a 0.00001% savings account for 6 months. And since gold is shinier than silver, I changed my spade. Maybe, just maybe, my scores will go up this month. Maybe, just maybe, a 7 figure bag of money will fall in my lap as well and I can finally get rid of all this debt. Thinking positive. LOL.
Congratulations on your spade

HAPPY FICO'ING FEBRUARY!!!!!Seriously?! That is AWESOME! Passport up to date? Where you going?
I have to see if I can obtain a passport. My officer seemed to have a reservation about letting me go to LA a couple of months ago so I went to New Orleans instead. I'm supposed to have 10 years of probation but I'm sure I can have it squashed after 2 years after ther Judge sees what I've accrued post-incarceration.
What state? In Texas, it's 5 years after the end of supervision... I've 4 months to go on that...
In CA, unless federal, I was able to as soon as I was done. But I wasn't in that great of a hurry.

I've got to be a 1%er because I don't think many people are coming out of prison and acquiring 60k in personal credit and employment nearing 6 figures in less than 3 years. I don't fail drug test and I've done everything they've asked of me with a smile even when it is inconvenient to me, which is every time. I've lost money due to lost wages because of ankle monitor malfunctions. Not once have I got bent out of shape, I got 5 years...not Life. Now all I have is a $34 monthly supervision fee. Before I had $25/week for group therapy sessions which lasted 2.5 years. $225 for polygraph tests. $120/month ankle monitor. $30/ month supervision fees. Not once did any of this break me down. I'm just really ready to move on with life. You have done what so many fail to do... That's what they are looking for, the responsibility taken seriously. I hope you internalized the therapy. Of all the things required of one, I would say that that was the toughest thing. But, I'm glad I did though, because without it, I wouldn't have seen the need to change. Not only was the therapy designed to learn me of the "how", but because of the 'why". It's applicable to so many things, not just the obviously criminal actions.
The fees are just there to remind you that every action you take can and usually do incur, in most cases, financial hardships.
You made the choice to stand up, take responsibility and walk the straight and narrow. There's so many people out there that don't. 1% club? I'm proud to be a member of that club.
This!
Part of a program I joined at school, is to help others through the process of re-introduction to life and school. Someone helped me get into school 4 years ago, now I get to help others in their journey.
Happy February.
Congrats to those with spade upgrades, especially those going to silver and up, as that indicates serious gardening.
I will be getting a blue jewel later this month, barring the unforseen.
Biggest struggle for me right now is resisting new car desires, had a close call in January on that one. In the end, this will likely cause my downfall from the garden.
Cards out there now wouldn't add much for me in my cash back focus. I could maybe pick up a nice SUB, but not going to.
Good luck on all your February goals.
