Afternoon all!

Here's some drama to to take your mind off of your own lives: My 17 year old son has declared that after graduation, he intends to get an apartment so he can be near his girlfriend of 3 mos and believe his Taco Bell salary @ $8/hr will be enough to afford a life in Louisiana. Oh, JOY!

Reasons why my child is a moron:

1. We're active duty military

2. We're PCS'ing to Michigan directly after his graduation

3. Louisiana is not our home

4. We have no family or friends in Louisiana

5. THERE IS ZERO SUPPORT SYSTEM IN LA!!!

Sweet baby Jesus be a fence around my sanity!

$8/hr with Louisiana taxes? He gonna live in a car and have someone else pay the registration?

HAHAHA!!!!

Come now... Be nice... Kid has to learn somehow!

Apparently, we're old and don't know anything. He's got this life thing figured out. Smiley Indifferent

Yeah if I could go back in time and tell 17 year old me some things...

I don't even know why I'm angry. The DNA is strong with this one.. he is the male version of me and I was just as head strong when I was his age.

Maybe that's why it makes you mad. Smiley Wink

*edit* I shouldn't even talk like this. Lol.

The nice way to put this is I wonder what will happen when he finally loses his virginity. Smiley Frustrated

Ya know, back in the day, you could ask your neighborhood grocery store butcher for some bones... Now you have WalMart...

My standard with pizza is this: Can you see other toppings under the pepperoni? If so, there's not enough pepperoni on the pizza.

hahaha that's my standard for cow..

Can you see the plate?

No.

Good cow!

That totally depends on the size of the plate.

A Barbie teaset comes to mind

TY for your service.  Ft Polk?

Thank you for your support! DH is Navy on Recruitment duty, so we're technically "remote". HQ is in Houston.

My official Navy title is Command Ombudsman, but I'm really just a dependent. Lol.

Back in the day, I spent 3 days in Ft. Polk.  Biggest cockroaches Ive ever seen

As a past military type, Ft Polk was considered a h**l hole!

Louisiana period is a h**l hole...

Still have a bit of BCP $6K left, so 6%.

This is Kroger, so groceries.

I fear Walmart steak. I throw some in my cart to just to impress the chicks, though.

I am being nice. When I lived down there with my dad they wanted me to pay the difference in taxes between Colorado (2.9%) and Louisiana (8%) -- I had a 2009 Ford Fusion. They wanted like $2K to register my car so I drove around with expired Colorado plates the whole time I lived there. Dunno how I never got caught. Guess dust from the gravel road my dad lives on covered the plate or something.

It is actually really expensive down there... the only thing that was cheap was alcohol.
