Hi!
Been off the forums for a bit. I'm trying to help my nephew rebuild his credit. He has quite a few derogatories so I know this is going to require some serious legwork and he's willing to put in the work. I'm attaching where he is at right now and would appreciate any first steps or advice I can give. I think from looking at it, the first ones would be the ATT Mobility and All Pro. There is a vehicle voluntary repo in there that I will work on last but trying to start with what looks "easiest". Should he be contacting the CB's to find out the exact amounts and maybe try to pay for deletion?
Thanks so much! I really want to help him out.
Contact the OC's and if needed the associated CA's and ask for PFD. Ive had good luck in the past when the OC wouldn't budge but the CA accepted payment in exchange for delete. The CA's will likely oblige as well. They just want their money. Good luck !

Thank you! This is a good starting point. Young kid and motivated so it makes it easy to help him.
Forgot to ask. Should he get anything in writing before paying ATT or ALLPRO?
Ideally yes. But I can tell you that only one small , local CA provided a letter to state PFR. All others, and there were many said they would'nt provide it. In the end, the ones I had success with honored the verbal. Actaully one said absolutely not, I paid anyway and within a week it was deleted.
Can I safely assume that while you're helping this young man, you're teaching him the path to not get in this situation again. Emergency fund, savings, Investment...You know
I sure did! Gave a big lecture to him and my niece. They're too young to be in this kind of trouble.
