Is Amex Serve card still run by Amex?

Wondering if Amex Serve is still Amex or not.... If you have a Serve card are you tecnically under the Amex umbrella? i.e. "in their system"? If so, would this put those with Serve cards in a preferential position when and if they App for a Amex CC?

...sort of...\_(ツ)_/¯

I guess the key phrase is:  "Amex will remain the network and issuer for transactions on these cards"

I have Bluebird/Serve and I cannot tell the difference after the sale. Everything still looks the same

One item to keep in mind OP, having any of these reloadable prepaid products and while still part of the AmEx ecosystem at large, does not play a role in being placed in any type of preferential position or consideration for any of their CC products.

Amex Serve is not a CC therefore HP will not be performed

instead it's a prepaid meaning you use what you have

The SPs as far as I am aware are only extended to existing American Express credit card and charge card customers, and even then they are very much YMMV.

I've merged these two threads as they are very similar.
