NFCU CLOC

I was approved for membership July 2017 and immediately appd and approved for Cash Rewards at $2,100

A week later (first week in August), I appd online for CLOC requesting $3K (got the you do not meet our lending criteria). I let it go at that.

On Friday (95 days and 4 statements) I requested CLI on Cash Rewards went to 24 hour reivew

Immediately following I appd for the Go Rewards as a 2nd card and instant approval for $15K!

Called this morning to PC to Flagship Signature Visa before they send the card out, and asked if they would give me the 30K points. The CSR changed the information to the Flagship (I also requested expedited shipping so I can start using it an have it start reporting). She said it will be shipped out tomorrow and I will have it on Wednesday.

I also asked her if there was an answer on my CLI request and she said that it was denied. Ok, no worries, just figured I will recon (maybe) once the letter arrives.

So, now I'm wondering if maybe it's time to app again for the CLOC. Would they use the same EQ pull since they just pulled it for the CLI? Should I call and app over the phone and ask them if they can first or just cold app online? And, should I request max or go low since they declined the CLI.

Or, should I just let things rest and garden a bit first?

Re: NFCU CLOC

i think the only pull they might reuse for CLOC is from an auto loan, so it would be a new HP.  I'd say app if you need it, wait a few more months to build more history if not.

Re: NFCU CLOC

Thank you @enjoimorenow, good advice.

I called and chatted with a loan specialist as well, and I think I will let things settle a bit. Hopefully once the new card starts to report with the $15K limit (my next highest to it is only $2,100) my scores will increase and then I will revisit apping for the CLOC. In the meantime I have enough for what my immediate needs are.

Thanks for sharing your profile. I just joined NFCU last week, I only app'd for Cash Rewards and got a low limit of $500. Not too surprised since I have 18 inquiries this year alone and a ton of new accounts. Going to wait and hit my 91/3 before I request a CLI and probably go for another card. Might try the Go Rewards and try to PC like you did.

Congrats!

Re: NFCU CLOC

How are you doing? I just joined & that was my starting limit as well, so just wanting to see how things went for you since we seem to have similar situations.
