I had good luck with a secured loan with nfcu to build some history. I just did a small $300 secured loan for 6 months and once it was paid off they approved me for a $12k unsecured loan. They still won't approve me for a credit card lol. I had similar scores to yours. Couldn't hurt

New scores are as follows EX8 681 TU8 652 EQ8 681 Seeing that this post is a " NFCU " subject my FICO 9 scores ar as follows ( all scores listed prior were FICO 8 )
Quick update . I called NFCU to ask a few questions about my possible options ( just trying to get any info that would help ) . I was asked if I had considered a collateral based loan. I didn't consider it because the only thing I had to offer was my car . My car is a 1999 Mustang Gt . I didnt think the cars value would be enough to use as collateral. The CSR told me to check anyway that it wouldnt hurt ( the value of the car ) . Anyway we checked and I was able to use my car as collateral and NFCU approved me for a loan. I requested $7500 . They gave it to me at 13% interest . Way better then what I had by far . Moral of the story , call and ask questions . You never know what u can work out . Never hurts to ask questions . Now I'll wait for 91/3 and see what happens then . Looking for a bigger SL card with NFCU . Anyway hope this helps someone in the future !!
