Re: NFCU and law enforcement

Do we know if NFCU is actually requring proof of eligibility? When they first changed their field of membership in 2017 to allow family of active duty/veterans it seemed like they were just taking people's word for it. That concerned me a lot as I believe people lied to join.

I am glad that they finally allowed veterans to join and even family of veterans; but I would still like them to be asking for DD214's before approving membership-unless they have some other way of verifying via a governent source etc-that I don't know.

There are data bases that they can access- digital age & all.

They don't require proof up front, it's on the honor system but it's known that they do frequent audits.

If they can't connect your eligibility to a data base, they can lock all your accounts until you prove you're eligible.
