Re: NFCU eligibility | my scenario

Thank you UncleB! I joined right now. I’m in (banking), with a decision pending on their green cashback card.

They pulled TU. I’ll create a post in credit card applications with the DPs

Good to hear.

If you are interested, you also qualify for Chase military banking.

I opened checking and savings with them a few months ago.  Again, I told the banker my situation, and he made a copy of my DD214.  That was all there was to it.

Congrats. Typically you aren't considered a veteran unless you have at least 6 months service.

Bumping an old post because I left you all hanging.

I was approved with a $1,000 SL. To this day I haven’t used this card at all. I will put some spend on it when we close on our house that we are in contract to buy.

Re: NFCU eligibility | my scenario

I am digressing a bit but on the radio recently the host pronounced DD214 as dee dee two one four.

Is it just me or does anything other dee dee two fourteen sound very odd?

I call it a "dee dee two one four."   I've never heard "two fourteen" from any of the other people I've chatted with (mostly genealogists).

I work in an office that handles veteran benefits, and have only heard her and the veterans call it dee dee two fourteen.
