Joined NFCU this morning. Very easy, but I have a question that I can't find an answer to on their site. I have the basic free checking account and would like to know if NFCU charges anything for using out of network ATMs? I know I won't be able to deposit in them but there are a number of ATMs around me that don't charge any fees, but when I was at a couple of the big banks I remember being charged by them for it.
There is no fee at CO-OP ATM's, which is mostly any credit union ATM in the country. Big banks (Chase, Citi, etc) use the Plus system and there is a fee at those unless you are Active Duty military, and then they will reimburse up to $20 in fees per month.
My question is: Is the fee charged by NFCU in addition to the fee charged by the ATM owner? How much is it? My understanding was that the fee reimbursement was for fees charged by an ATM owner.

They charge $1 in addition to whatever a Plus system ATM charges. No fees at all for CO-OP.
