I don’t have any promos right now.  I just like having it as a buffer.  When it is used, it is an Emerg.  I do pay off in 2-5 months generally. But I get killed on the %

  • plus, I want to move away from Wells.  So I might as well move to one that offers an LOC

Why not keep 3 months emergency fund then?

Re: Never ending quest to consolidate. What is yours?

Working on that as well

i guess I should have phrased this better

i want to get away from Wells.  I did open a joint with Chase, but they don’t have an LOC, so I won’t move to them as my primary bank

i want to move to a new bank, and would prefer one that has all the borrowing profiles that I already have

i think I will try out USBank.

Thanks.

US Bank is pretty good. My experience with them is much better than Chase. The only reason I decided to stay with them is because my wife wants them and their credit cards.

Re: Never ending quest to consolidate. What is yours?

Thanks.  I app’d for a checking account and Visa about 20min ago

once approved, I will start getting direct deposit rolling into it and moving payments

i will add a Savings as soon as I get everything lined up

then I will app for an LOC in November

planning shutdown of Wells saving and LOC in Dec

shutdown of checking Acct whenever I get everything sorted out.

Likely keep the Wells Visa for awhile.

Re: Never ending quest to consolidate. What is yours?

I use Ally savings. 1.9% interest rate. I also have Alliant but I like them less so I am in the process of being closed in the next 2 months. Also Ally offers no panel CD which right now is 2.1%. Which means if you don't access your savings a lot then you could get higher rate than regular savings.

Re: Never ending quest to consolidate. What is yours?

My quest to consolidate below:

Current Credit Cards:

  1. BOA Cash Rewards - Keeping for Online Purchases 3% CB + HIGH CL
  2. AMEX Gold - Keeping for Groceries 4x Points for Delta Travel
  3. NFCU cashRewards - Keeping for the catch-all 1.5% CB
  4. NFCU Platinum - Keeping for the rainy day 8% APR high balance card
  5. EECU Classic Visa - Closing after (1) Year. (Applied for an Auto Loan and didn't get approved for what I wanted but instead took there via offer for 1k. Stupid move but now if I cancel I think it will post on my Credit Reports anyways.)

Current Bank Accounts:

  1. NFCU - Keeping MAIN banking institution
  2. BECU - Closing soon (I personally HATE their mobile app lol)
  3. Schools Financial Credit Union - Keeping (Secret Trick to get into Schools First Credit Union) **PM me if you're interested**
  4. EECU Fresno, CA - Closing after (1) Year

Possible Future Credit Cards:

  1. US Bank Cash +
  2. Paypal
  3. Apple Card (YNAB non-support has stopped me)
  4. Chase Freedom (Chase and I don't see eye to eye about account closures so I'm really not sure, maybe one day)
  5. Chase CSR (Chase and I don't see eye to eye about account closures so I'm really not sure, maybe one day)
