More than likely, thankfully I've never been in a situation to need payday loans. Now that I know more about them I'll make sure I always have a back up plan so I never have to use them.
I've used payday loans two or three times during some really hard times and have been lucky enough to not get caught in the cycle trap, but it's certainly not too difficult for that to happen with the insane interest rates they charge.
There's a reason you generally only find these places in low-income neighborhoods and on shady-looking websites. They clearly prey on the weak, desperate, and uneducated.
Payday loans suck you in and try their darnedest to not let you out. Been there. Done that. For anyone reading this and thinking about it - just don't. If there is any other way take the other way. Chances are that the bad thing that will happen if you don't take it won't be as bad as the bad things that will happen if you do take it. I've been fortunate to come out the other side in good shape, but it hurt bad for a while.
