So, I used to bank with Randolph-Brooks FCU way back in the day for about 20 years. I tried to rejoin recently and was instantly denied.
Apparently, there is an instant decline on account applications if you have more than 5 Chexsystems inquiries on your Chexsystems.
I have 12!
Does anyone know how long Chexsystems Inq's take to fall off?
Thanks,
Gib
Wow... this is the first time I've ever heard of Chexsystems or EWS inquiries causing a problem.
I always thought as long as there was no negative information you would be 'good to go'. I guess there's a first time for everything.
I app'd to RBFCU in September and was denied because of one bank reporting 2 times on ChexSystems. I ordered my report. The date is from are from 2012. From what I have read, these remain for 5 years. I only have 4 inquiries, with one cu pulling twice.
ChexSystems shows other info, like : evictions, bankruptcies and a list of other info that I had no idea they had. It would be a good idea to order your report just to be aware of what is reporting or what they have.
I have called other cu's and find that some will deny membership if there is anything on ChexSystems.
It seems that they denied membership to me for 4 inquiries also and a bank reporting for an overdraft and a closed account.
Were you denied soley for inquiries or for a closed bank account that was defaulted on?
Eeek! Good to know.
One pull a year is free. I got mine and it was blank. At least one credit bureau is clean.
I didnt see INQ but I'll have to look again.

Alliant CU nailed me for the same reason
Wow, haven't checked check systems, but I got in. Can anyone confirm if this is new? Or has always been?
