Sdfcu membership

I called and they told me it coild

take 3 weeks to approve membership. Application still pending from 11/7/24.

what a joke... after suppling them all of this:

POI

driver license 

SS card

passport

passport card

photo of member of American Credit council

cable bill showing service address as residence

Two letters from an insurance company referencing my home address as the residence address to verify my residence 

they said they cannot verify my identity and my membership is declined. 

I filed a complaint with the NCUA.

SDFCU offers video teller, if they had any doubt as to my identity they could have jumped on a video call with me, they did not offer that option.

I consider this a warning as to what kind of service you can expect. a lot of trouble to join a no account credit union, lol.

A few years ago I had a background check state that my education could not be verified. The background check stated that I had attended but graduated. I emailed a copy of my diploma  not good enough they would not change their report. I finally I had to contact the school and the school updated and fixed their reporting problem solved.  All that said they need to verify you and those documents uploaded  are supporting evidence. For example do not take this peronally the copy of the DL shows you have DL in a state. There is an area in Los Angeles that is infamous for producing fake ID's DL etc.  The agency needs to verify that ID is valid etc. As I stated it is just an example nothing more than that it also ties to my background check issue. 

I have been a member SDFCU about a year in and half now. I have talked to them maybe two or three times by phone or email. Everything thing else I can accomplish online. In my own experience I have nothing bad to say about them.
