Stop tempting us. Congratulations on your membership!
Welp, finalized the SCU account this morning. That was easy!! Linked a couple of bank accounts together and initialized the transfers.Planning to push $3K (Max it out) to the 3% Holiday club account, $500 to the youth club account at 5% and $500 to the savings account at 5%.
Got to get as many pennies out of my pennies as I can. lol
It's still better than leaving the money in a 1.5% high yield savings account.
This CU uses the same online interface as State Department credit union.
To keep accounts like this active and avoid that $50 service fee for inactivity. I'll set up auto drafts to pull or push the interest paid monthly, back to an external high yield savings account monthly.
Oh and also initially funded the account with my trusty Citi DC MC for the maximum they allowed.
One of the good things about Service Credit Union is that it has 2 day early direct deposit.
If anyone else is looking to join this credit union I just found out via chat that I am eligible because my brother-in-law is currently in the Marine Corp. So it doesn't appear to be restricted to immediate family members.
Boy, their ACH transfers are fast!!
Service Credit Union and USAA must be joined at the hip!!😂
I initialized a ACH this morning.
It was showing in the SCU account before 4 pm!
