Well he came by and my wife was stopping through and she saw it and said that i needed to buy it.  so i did.  what swayed my decision  was he gave me the deal stated above.  as well as om other promo items off the truck  "hoody's for myself wife and 2 kids.  and other stuff".  also i have in writing that he is giving me 4800.00 for my old box once it is emptied.  but that will be 3 cash and 1800 truck credit. that i can use for any other tools or items that i will end up needing.  thanks every one for the input.  i will try and get a pic of it tomorrow.

First off congratulation on your new shiny toy. I am however a bit puzzled. Am I the only person who sees the items tossed in "hoody;s and other stuff" as a clear indication that the original price is too high for what the item it worth? Also you say you do not do wrenching much anymore but instead of downsizing you are expanding your tool collection (since your offers include tools). It just doesn;t make sense to me...

Hope it makes sense to you though and you get many years of joy. This was supposed to be a reward for you as you said in the OP.

Re: Should I make this purchase

To my understanding, used tool boxes can be easily resold.

If you don't need your old one I'd resell it.

Anytime I buy new camera equipment I sell the old asap

Re: Should I make this purchase

Those toolboxes hold their price amazingly well.  You can sell a crappy beat up one for quite a bit of money.

Quality is there though, thats why the price.  You could always buy a few hundred dollar thinner metal box that looked similar but it wouldnt last your lifetime like these tend to.

Still an awesome box Smiley Happy

Re: Should I make this purchase

I do wood work.  Could of made you a luxurious one with the same amount of drawers and gold plated door knobs for the $7k.  I would of made about $2k profit.
