Thinking of opening a personal Chase checking acct and maybe CC as well.

How has chase been for you? I am currently with Bank of Amercia and thinking of closing my personal checking and will no longer be using my Business credit card with them and have a BT on my personal CC, so the new checking account will be associated with making payments towards the BofA personal CC.

I personally avoid banks and only utilize credit unions. That said, I have heard Chase is the least of the worst of big banks. YMMV though because for every upset customer they have thousands who love them.

I have a checking and saving with them, but I'm only in for the sign-up bonus and for better credit approval purposes.  I will say I didn't like how they handled my ACH saving transfer. I moved money form one of my other banks (Cap1 or Discover, I forget) and I made the ACH transfer from the outside bank. After a week I get called my the Chase fraud department stating that my ACH transfer was going to be deined because (Chase) couldn't tell the amount of money I was holding in the outside bank. In order for me to meet the 30-day deadline, I had to wire money to myself and pay the transfer fee from my outside bank as well as the "wire incoming fee" from Chase. I did call Chase CSR and have that BS incoming fee wavied. Once I get the bonus payout, I will be closing the accts once it safe to do so.

I did see the offers for opening a new checking account, that is 1 of the reason I want to open an account but I also want to get a personal and business CC from Chase as well.  I would think that would help me...

Re: Thinking of opening a personal Chase checking acct and maybe CC as well.

I've been with Chase ever since I was a teenager (at that time Washington Mutual, then Chase) and I have no issues.  However, recently, I have been getting tired of earning no interest on my checking money.  I keep thousands and thousands in there to cover all my monthly auto-pay bills.  So, I am in the process of switching over to my Primis checking.  Primis checking was 5.07% for a very long time and just this month turned to 4.85%, still very good.  Still working on the conversion.  I have a LOT of auto-pays linked to Chase, not to mention my job direct deposit.  I put a lot of money in my Primis checking, starting to change all my auto pays to Primis, and lastly, I'll change my direct deposit.  I won't close my Chase accounts, they just won't be my primaries.
