Re: Which CU for Installment loan for a quick score boost?

Thanks @Anonymous for the info and thanks also @Kforce for the explanation. So, so far we have CU that will let you prepay down to 8.9%...

1. Alliant - That will push back the due date giving you up to 50+ months of reporting. Only thing is you have be approved for it (HP) as its not a true SSL. Sounds great just HP if approved.

2. Andrews FCU - True SSL, SP to join and SP for loan! I spoke to loan officer yesterday and she confirmed all this AND that the due date is pushed out. Sounds perfect, has anyone taking out an SSL with them that can verify all this?

3. SECU MD - As recommended that should give about a 5 to 6 month window. Is it HP or SP to join and get loan?

4. Nasa - I called rep yesterday said, its HP to join and you can use HP for any products for 30 days. He said the loan gets pushed out to 6 months at most. Anyone else can confirm?

Anyone have any other recommendations or experiences? Ideally, a CU that will allow prepayment and that it postpones the due date.

Re: Which CU for Installment loan for a quick score boost?

I´ve found an old post with these that were supposed to work at the time. Has anyone taken out an SSL or loan with any of these CU´s and can give feedback? Mainly if they accept prepayment to 8.9% and push or not the due date of the loan.

Why not just try "Andrews FCU".

It looks like it is all SP, so nothing to lose.

We need a new data point, and YOU should be the guinea pig.   Smiley LOL

It does sound pretty sweet. And either one you should be able to get a loan and a credit card from, NASA or Andrews I would think. What bureaus do they pull? you know what version?

Re: Which CU for Installment loan for a quick score boost?

@Kforce Definitely! I just have to wait about 3 weeks cause some of personal issues and then I will apply for sure. I will keep investigating about these CU's or other options as backups just in case.

@Anonymous Im not sure, from info I gathered from past posts it says Andrews will pull TU and Nasa does Experian but it would be great if anyone has some current DP.

See message 3 of the mega thread. It'll wipe a few off your list.

Re: Which CU for Installment loan for a quick score boost?

Unless DCU has fairly recently updated how they handle SSL loans they don't allow prepayment more than 3 months out.   You'd want to double check their current policy before applying.
