is there a way around BCU like other CUs?

hello everyone,

Going through multiple threads about BCU's sweet SL, I was wondering is there a way to join them?

I don't qualify through work/location/family option they have posted on their website.

or any other CU which is flexible other than DCU/PenFed/NFCU

please advise.

Thank you

Re: is there a way around BCU like other CUs?

I depends on if you are talking about Baxter Credit Union or Boeing Employees Credit Union (BECU). I joined Northwest Credit Union's Friends of the Foundation for $20 to be eligible for BCU. This site says it is still an option.

Where to join :

Some app for CC right away, I suggest wait for an offer on their website.

For Baxter Credit Union, sadly no. No backdoor method or any way around.

Do you Got any family or relatives/cousins that work for Target or CVS by chance? Both those companies make you eligible for Baxter CU.

https://www.bcu.org/Member-Center/Membership-Eligibility

They are in the process of merging with Geico Federal Credit Union. I don't see any backdoor methods for joining Geico FCU either, unfortunately.

https://www.geicofcu.org/home/join/how-to-join

They have merged with a handful of credit unions over the years and after Geico won't be surprised to see them merge with more down the road later. Maybe some day they'll merge with one that has some sort of backdoor method of joining or one thats open to everyone.

Baxter Credit Union is a phenomenal Credit Union, I don't blame you for wanting to join.
