"Free Open Enrollment" for Penfed ??

Got my son-in-law to join Penfed yesterday.  Went thru the qualifications and being that he had none, he check the none, but I still want to join Penfed option. Next screen asked for funding options and the clicked enter.  Almost immediately got an alert from CK that a new inquiry posted on his EQ file.  Then screen took him to set up his online profile. Membership approved

He didnt have to join any of the auxilary support organizations.

Is this new?

He immediately applied for a car refi and it went pending to loan officer.  18 hours  later got the approval email. Went from a 13.5% APR to a 4.04% APR

No 2nd HP for the auto-refi.

I think Penfed likes him

I'd get it one piece at a time
And it wouldn't cost me a dime
You'll know it's me when I come through your town
I'm gonna ride around in style
I'm gonna drive everybody wild
'Cause I'll have the only one there is around.

Same thing happened for me. I just went online and it let me join. I was declined for their credit cards but instantly approved for an $18K used car loan

Interesting, would rather paid enrollment and no HP haha. But that’s my personal opinion
