Re: A newbie's story, then a little judgement help?

Just contacted the lawyer. The 2010 judgement was for 8600, today with interest it is 10251. They said they would accept the original 5946 plus court costs and fees, 6500 even.

What is the safe sure way to pay them? Can they sell off the remaining balance? I want to be sure this is completely behind me. What documentation do I need from them?

Also, who reports to the CRAs it is satisfied? It is only on my TU report, I'd rather EQ and EX not be notified of it.

I know that's a lot of questions, I am so grateful for everyone's time!

Judgements are actually reported by a third party that reports from the court records.  If paid/satisfied, talk with the attorney, and contact the court where it was filed and see what their process is to vacate or set asside the judgement.  Some courts do, some don't.

Re: A newbie's story, then a little judgement help?

Although I really want it vacated, I don't mind as long as it's satisfied. Are you saying there is a third party(outside of the attorney and the courts) that notifies the credit reporting agencies of it's satisfaction? As of now there is no mention of a judgement at all on eq or ex, and I want to keep it that way.
I just need to contact the courts once satisfied and see how they proceed? Can I request that it only reports to TU?

Thanks again!

There's a third party that goes through the courts records and reports to the CRAs.  If it's not reported now, and  you satisfy it, I don't think they would report it.  But I'm not sure of that.
