Ok. Well like mentioned earlier, I have disputed via letter, phone, and in the branch with BOA and all they did was pass me off and turn their back on me.
I could send something to the CA asking for proof as I already disputed with BOA and it is not a valid charge - however they have not been resonsive either to my enquiries.
I mean, they have not called or sent a letter to me once in the 9-10 months they have owned the account. You would think if they had a $15,000 account unpaid they would be a bit more proactive *rollseyes*
I am convinced they are just boosting the value on my CR to really hurt my scores and hoping I will pay SOMETHING to just get it off my report knowing BOA has not been cooperative and that $15,000 current debt really hurts my score..
Actually as far as hurting your scores, the amount doesn't hurt. FICO will score a $15 collection the same as a $15,000 debt.
I do agree, I figure they would come after you too.
I have been told and seen on credit applications that my "amount in collections" is too high..and this is my only significant one in collections (I have one $400 one I need to fight)
These guys are going to keep reporting this $15k and growing debt every single month..but I dont know how to stop them.
Maybe report them for reporting false amounts since they are obviously adding higher then allowed interest and fees? Then they would ptobably continue to post just the $8k balance...
They are up to something if they have doubled the amount yet made no attempts to collect it...
It does make a difference under manual review.
To who?
To whoever pulls your credit.
Yes, I have noticed - several times I have lost lending and was told it was solely to do this $15k account..
Apparently I a not the only one they are doing this too, looking at sites like RipOffReport and pissed consumer - many people have stated that they have also doubled their balance in a very short amount of time and had no luck getting it removed...I just want this off my report as it's the crutch to my credit right now...
I just filed two complaints about the CA to the FTC. One for the false information they are reporting and one for their debt collection practices. I know it probably won't do anything or cause any action - but I am literally at a loss for what to do in getting this huge problem removed..
I just lost an important loan due to solely this account again
Does anyone have any suggestions other then what has already been stated.
Disputing with both CA ad OC have gone nowhere - disputed with 3 bureaus and no result.
Filed reports with FTC and no response.
On my credit report with equifax for the CA it shows:
Date Reported: 01/2013
Date Assigned: 01/2012
Creditor Classification: Banking
Creditor Name: BANK OF AMERICA
Account Owner: Individual Account
Original Amount Owned: $8,004
Accounts Number: XXXXXXXX
Date of 1 st Delinquency: 09/2007
Balance Date: 01/2013
Balance Owned: $15,019
Last Payment Date : N/A
Status Date: 01/2013
Status: D - Unpaid
Comments: Consumer disputes this account information
Does anything on this entry look not right? Anything I could use to help get this off my report?
Since it is showing the first deliquency was 09/2007 does that mean this would roll of my report on 09/2014? Does this mean both the OC's report and the Collection Agency?
