Amex prepaid leads to unsecured amex

So I heard about this program on the Internet and I called amex to confirm. I was told that after six month of pre paid history with them they start to evaluate your activity and within 6 months to 2 years they can decide to offer you an unsecured card. I was told by the rep that after 30 months of continued use they almost guarantee that you will get an unsecured card. They recommend that you automatically reload on a set schedule and that you use your car for everyday purchases.

On a personal note I have also be using the pre paid card for about 4 or 5 months now and I have not paid 1 dollar in fees. It is absolutely fee free unless you withdraw from the ATM and I believe that fee is $1 per transaction. I definitely recommend it.

Re: Amex prepaid leads to unsecured amex

And as a bonus you get to look like a bonified credit success by using an amex. The card does not say prepaid anywhere but in the back in small type. Lol

Re: Amex prepaid leads to unsecured amex

I did some research today. From what I can tell, the Make Your Move program has been discontinued and since there's not anything actually on the AMEX website about it, I would guess that's not available anymore. Also, in the original text, it specifically mentions it's only for those building credit, not rebuilding.

Re: Amex prepaid leads to unsecured amex

Check it out on the credit cards sections many have said on there it doesn't lead to getting a charge card.

Re: Amex prepaid leads to unsecured amex

Also, everyone I saw that ended up with an AMEX had scores that were likely to be approved anyhow. Smiley Tongue
