Back in the Mud!

Hi guys, I'm looking for some advice! The mortgage lady told me only time will help me. My scores suffered after missing 3 payments on my 3 credit cards from August-November 2015. I was in the 620s across the board. Now with a new baby girl & a 2 year old son I MUST PURCHASE A HOME BY THE END OF THE YEAR!

My current scores are: 548 Equifax 564 Transunion 568 Experian

3 Installment Accounts:

Consumer Portfolio (Car Note) Financed:  $27,947.02; Current $25,532.48

Fed Loan Servicing: $4,114.49

Fed Loan Servicing: $8,033.21

5 Revolving Accounts:

Capital One: $300.00 Limit; Current $180.00

Capital One: $300.00 Limit, Current $175.00

Credit One: $400.00 Limit; Current $300.00

Zales: $500.00 Limit; Current $0, Never Charged

New York & Company: $250.00 Limit; $0, Never Charged

5 Collection Accounts

Cox Communications: $226.00 as of 10/2015

Capital Accounts: $546 Medical Bill as of 10/2015

Certified Recovery Services: $1625 (apartments) 03/2014 -- I'D HATE TO PAY THEM DUE TO THE VIOLENCE THAT WENT ON HERE WHEN I WAS 9 MONTHS PREG.

Transfinancial Company: $237 Medical Bill as of 04/2015

Transfinancial Company: $266 Medical Bill as of 04/2015

AND A WHOPPING 39 INQUIRIES from car shopping and I app'd for a couple cards, which i got in the long run!

FEEL FREE TO SCRUTINIZE AND MAKE SUGGESTIONS! THANKS! Heart

Re: Back in the Mud!

I'd wager  your scores must improve for a mortgage to happen.

Collections will have to be paid as well.

Your mortgage lady is right... only time is going to help you and I don't think you will make your end of year deadline.

Re: Back in the Mud!

Congratulations on your addition and milk that free diaper changing assistant. My mom had no problems passing my siblings to me and saying "brother needs changing, thanks sweetie." :-)

If you actually don't need to use all the credit cards, zero out 2 and only keep one in use under 10% and maybe start dealing with your collections.
Starting Score:TU:791(Dec3), EX:783, EQ:000
Current Score: TU:786(Aug9), EX:776, EQ:782 (Aug8)
Goal Score:820 across all boards

Re: Back in the Mud!

Thank you! He actually wants to change her diapers lol! I paid credit one off today and one of my capital one credit cards as well, leaving one left to deal with which is $175.00. I know I have to deal with the collections eventually so I'll start today!

Thank you!

Re: Back in the Mud!

First thing is trying to get that $175 balance lowered as mentioned before. Then once you've done that if you've got the money to pay for the medical bills then first call the OC and ask if they can recall the debt and pay them, which will force the CA to delete since they wouldn't have collection authority. If that doesn't work then google the HIPAA process (can't talk about it on here) and follow it exactly and that should help w/ those. Then I'd address the Cox CA,; search the forums first to see what people are saying about them and then try to do a PFD with them. I'd save the apt lease for last (that's actually what I'm waiting to do myself) and try to PFD it as well.

Congrats on your baby girl as well!

Re: Back in the Mud!

Thank you so much! I will google the HIPPA process and follow it as well.  Those people are so pesky and call all day long. I can pay off the $175 balance to $10.00 today as well. I will start there! Thank you!

Re: Back in the Mud!

Your collections aren't that bad, all manageable!! $2900 for all your collections isn't bad. If not this year then probably next year!

Re: Back in the Mud!

For unpaid medical debt that is reporting on your CR:

1. Call the OC and see if you qualify for Charity Care
2. If not then ask that they recall the collection in exchange for full payment
3. Send the reporting CA a PFD offer
4. Google the HIPAA Process and contact its creator for help
