CA Tactics - Seeking Advice

I have a friend I am trying to help deal with a CA. They told her on the phone they had placed a lien on her house.  She has received nothing in the mail about a lien on her home.

Are these guys just yanking her chain about the lien to attempt to get her to pay them?  She started paying them monthly because she was afraid of losing her home.

I have already convinced her to STOP talking to the CA on the phone.  The debt is hers. 

What should she do next?

I highly doubt there is a lien. However, contact the courthouse to check on that.

If she is paying them, then likely SOL has been reset. Have to check state statutes to be certain.

If she were to DV, chances are they'd say she passed the 30 day time period to do that.

So, I see two options........send a PFD offering to PIF one lump sum for the removal of the collection or finish paying and GW them.
