CITIBANK goodwill letter SUCCESS!!!

Hi All,

Long time member, long time lurker, recently I got a 30+ day ding on my credit from Citibank. I was 37 days late paying my Simplicity card. I have no other negatives on my report, started rebuilding 4-5 years ago and now have over 100k+ in credit. My scores were in the low 700s, dropped all the way down to 585-620 from that (1) 30 day late. 

Long story short, I remembered about writing a GW letter. I read online and it seemed like a 50/50 success rate. I took a shot in the dark, sent the emails out, got a call within an hour. Spoke to EO and explained my situation, gave a sob story, offered proof etc...she said give me a week while I check some stuff I'll touch back with you next week. Today I got the call that it will be removed from all (3) bureaus !!!! I am beyond estatic and happy of the outcome. I haven't posted on these forums in quite a while but I wanted to share with yall my story in hopes that it can help someone else down the line.

I just drafted my own I explained some hardships and just being honest told them I was overwhelmed and just overlooked my account. Honest mistake etc etc. It's already off my reports as of today, took no more than 3 days lol

Congrats I’m happy this worked for you. I tried to goodwill a 30 day late on a finger hut account with no success but I’m glad it’s working for some of us.

Congrats that’s awesome! I’ve been trying to get a 30 day late off my fiancé’s credit and they keep saying no do you mind PMing me the email as well?

Don’t give up!!! Send them a letter a month if you have too. Worked with flagship credit. Since they offer credit for people like me 610 and lower, I figured I didn’t have a shot. December 2017 I had 30 days late, 2 months prior it started. I have been sending them a letter a month since January of 2018. Was approved 6 months later. Worth the wait.
