COVID-19 and Collections

Are the collections companies being classified as essential? Are they operating? If you submit dispute letters or anything right now, are they going to be able to do their 30 day replies and if not what does that do for you?

Re: COVID-19 and Collections

Good question! Most state orgs are still running, but with physical paper and physical mail.. not too sure. Also the individual companies should be deciding if they want to stay open, keep staff, or even in stay in business.

I'm also wondering if the CA are willing to settle for lower than what they normally would because of the unemployment and all that stuff.

Seems like a good time to file a dispute and hope for the best.  What's the worst outcome really?

Umm...it could come back verified and hurt your scores even more? Or worse, they could verify it AND increase the balance due to fees.
